Pros & Cons of the Garmin 255
Pros
- Price only costs 150 dollars in China after government subsidy.
Cons
- The stock strap feels cheap, and the material doesn’t feel good on the skin.
- The software is not as polished as Coros in some areas. Understandable though — after so many years, this kind of technical debt is inevitable. Maybe a few years later, Coros will face the same thing.
- Localization is underwhelming. Some translations in the schedule/course section are confusing.
- Navigation is just for fun — not really practical.
- Connect app’s dark mode feels weird.
Battery
- Endurance: 1 week → 50%
- Charging power: 1W
Running Gear
- If you sweat a lot, I strongly recommend getting a hat.
Lessons from My First Half Marathon
- Bring energy gels you’ve already tried, not ones you’ve never used before.
- If you’re not sure whether you need nipple guards, bring them anyway.
- Your inner thighs will still need some Vaseline.
